Today, we all packed up and headed over to Belle Plaine for the annual Scarecrow Festival. We started out the day by walking around and looking at all of the scarecrows on display. Here are a few pictures of our favorite scarecrows.

At first, Johnna was unsure of what to think about this "Scarecrow Festival." She had an uncertain little look to her when we first got there.
Here, she is playing on a wooden choo-choo train playgound.
Daddy joined her after awhile. What cuties I have!
Then, we went to listen to the musical entertainment in the tent. The nice man was a regular old one-man-band. He had a basket full of instruments for the children to grab and play. Johnna was shy at first, but then when Mama went up to get instruments with her, she started shaking to the beat.
After that, we went to see if Johnna would like to ride on a little train, being pulled by a tractor. She was excited at first, but then decided she would only do it if "Dada" went along with her. Well, luckily, Johnna has a really *nice* Dada!
What a good Dada!
After that, we went to the little "country store" for a snack, then headed off on a wagon ride to the...Pumpkin Patch! This is when Johnna really started loosening up. She was running all over that pumpkin patch!
Can you spot her in the above picture?
My little pumpkin!
Mama shouldn't try to smuggle out a pumpkin, but it fit so well under her sweater...oh wait, who is she trying to fool?
Of course, the best picture John took wasn't recognized by the camera...GRRR...
So, we picked out our pumpkins and took the bumpy ride back to the main festival. We decided we would pick some apples from the orchard and then head out for some pizza. BUT...we saw...
...PONY RIDES! I did *not* think little shy-bug would be interested in riding, but she was all up in those horses. And once again, Dada was wonderful to walk around with her as she rode the ponies. Mama was so proud of her little girl!
My favorite...this smile says it all!
Stay tuned...apple orchard pictures to be continued on the next entry. :)
